“Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.”
Meet John C. Lubarsky, LMT
For as long as I can recall I’ve been immersed in the functioning of the human body. I grew up in a house which doubled as a treatment center for my mother’s private pediatric occupational PT business while my eldest sister studied to become an MD.
After graduation from Ridge High School in 2001, I matriculated into DeSales University to study business, however less than two months into my freshman year, 9/11 happened. This event had a profound impact on the trajectory of my life as it did for many Americans. I was enrolled in Army ROTC at Lehigh University at the time, and was getting myself ready to go to war, however God had other plans in store for me. I left DeSales when I realized my talents were not destined for the corporate world. I had a “service” philosophy which I couldn’t reconcile sitting behind a desk.
As years went by, I made many attempts to serve my Country in a multitude of ways. I spent a year working for DHS and had selection to USSS (Secret Service) and HSI, however once again the path was re-routed back to the healing professions.
The loss of a job and chance encounter with a funeral director set me on a course which I would never have imagined. I attended AAMI (American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service) in NYC and became an embalmer for five years. It was one of the most rewarding careers I’ve had and really prepared me for where I am today.
After finding out that I was going to be a father, I decided I wanted to use the knowledge in anatomy & physiology I’d learned in mortuary service to help the living, where I could see the fruit of my labor firsthand and change lives. So, I enrolled at the Institute for Therapeutic Massage (ITM) and became a Licensed Massage Therapist, passing my MBLEX in 2018.
I worked the “circuit” for a few years at chain spas to develop my routine and then branched out to high end spas such as Crystal Springs Resort. I now use all the knowledge and skills I’ve amassed to benefit others with a more personal approach to massage therapy with an inclination towards biomechanics in sport.
